Our sarap-to-the-bones favorite just came out with something that’s sarap-even-without-the-bones.
The Max’s Classic Chicken Burger packs a toasted oatmeal-topped bun with two chicken patties, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and mayo-garlic dressing. Hefty and filling but easy to eat even when on-the-go.
While I like chicken in my sandwich, the sight of Max’s Classic Chicken Burger didn’t really get me excited. Because for me, Max’s is synonymous with a quarter chicken and rice. That’s been my standard order as far as I can remember.
So bread and patties at Max’s caused a bit of disconnect for me. But I thought I’d take a bite, anyway, just for show. You know, pakisama during the launch. With matching declaration that I just came from another event and was still full yada yada yada.
Well, all the drama was for naught. My one bite extended to about a dozen. Before I knew it, I had emptied my plate and finished my Max’s Classic Chicken Burger. “Ay, merienda time na pala kaya pala gutom na ako!”. I sheepishly rationalized the sudden surge of appetite.
I didn’t expect the chicken to be as tasty. Sarap pa rin talaga even without the bones! Chicken love, indeed! The garlic mayo definitely contributed to my enjoyment. Somebody snagged the seasoned breaded kamote chips sidings so I only got to eat a few pieces. But kamote’s always a treat for me so yeah, yay for those too!
Max’s Restaurants just turned 70 years old. Despite its steady following that cuts across generations, the “house that fried chicken built” continues to innovate and find ways to be of service to its clientele not only by being more accessible and adding branches (worldwide at that!) but also by expanding its menu.
Try their newest addition. Head on to Max’s and order the Classic Chicken Burger. Avail of the special bundle price of P165.00 with kamote chips and a choice of Pepsi product or iced tea until October 31, 2015.
