I have been patronizing Zen Zest since it started, way back when it was practically a one-woman show. When its owner, Michelle Asence-Fontelera was still mixing the fragrances herself. For almost 15 years, I’ve watched the business expand its line to include more than 150 products and grow to more than 100 branches nationwide.
Zen Zest has been a fixture in my home. I’ve always liked using the body scrub enriched with aloe vera extract, shea butter, jojoba oil, and apricot seeds. I like the Talc scent best but they don’t carry that anymore so these days I go for Honeydew melon.
The Zen Zest Anti-Mosquito Room Fragrance is one of my newest favorites. Its mosquito-repelling power is just a bonus. More than anything, I love how it smells. The invigorating combination of Citronella, Lemongrass and Eucalyptus encourages me to go on a spraying spree. Admittedly, I tend to go overboard sometimes.
I also keep a bottle of room fragrance in my car, particularly the aromatherapy Uplift scent. The mix of eucalyptus and neroli is revitalizing and comes in handy when traffic is extra heavy and there is danger of falling asleep behind the wheel.
In my most recent shopping trip at Zen Zest, I noticed an upgrade in the packaging designs. The labels are so much prettier now. I grabbed a couple of bottles to replenish my gift cabinet. They make excellent all-occasion presents so I maintain a steady stock.
The soothing and moisturizing Aromatherapy massage oil is something that’s appreciated by both genders. The Sleep variant is a calming combination of Lavender and Rosemary oils, perfect for my perennially stressed and overworked pals. The Energize option contains green tea and grapefruit oils which supposedly recharge the body and refresh the mind. Just like the room fragrance, the Uplift version of the massage oil is also meant for those who need to perk up and be productive.
The Aromatherapy line also includes linen fragrance and home fragrance oils.
Zen Zest’s body spray is also something that can easily be stuffed in a paper bag and handed as a gift. I think the youthful scents of Cotton Flower and Spring Bouquet appeal to a lot of people so I always keep at least one of each.
Despite being a Zen Zest classic, I don’t recall ever using any product in Vanilla Cream. The shelf displayed body spray, body scrub, body wash, hand sanitizer and hand soap. I just chose one to try.
And then I left the kiosk (I am a suki at Trinoma) before I got tempted to buy more. I was beyond my shopping quota already and my bag was getting too heavy to carry. But I will definitely be back when my stash runs out.
