In celebration of Taal Vista Hotel’s 75th Anniversary, celebrity guest chefs have been taking over the Café Veranda kitchen to present their unique interpretations of Filipino Cuisine. Until November 23, diners can experience the artistry and flavor of their dishes at the Culinary Gems: A Festival of Filipino Flavors Buffet on select weekends. Lunch buffet will be from 11:30AM to 3:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays and dinner buffet will be from 6:00PM to 10:00PM on Saturdays.
Chef Babes Austria, former Executive Chef of Malacañang Palace and Taal Vista Hotel was the featured chef last October 4-5. She will still be at the helm of the buffet this weekend, October 11-12.
Chef Babes’ repertoire includes a variety of heirloom dishes such as Tuba Battered Tawilis and Tabon Tabon Tanguingue Kinilaw, Kundol sa Gata at Hipon and Tagaytay KBL (Kadios, Baboy, Langka), Paella Crispy Pork Dinuguan, Kinamanyasang Itik Kinulob sa Palayok, Suman Cake sa Luyang Dilaw and Fried Pinipig Ginger Suman with Alfonso Cacao Sauce.
Chef Austria hails from Bataan where her mother taught and inspired her to cook. She also shares that heart, passion and prayers are her best ingredients in the kitchen. Chef Babes enjoys going to the market daily to create dishes using the freshest ingredients.
